1. HEALTH
okay, check it.
i tried to figure out how to put a video on here, but i couldn't. so. i got this from cnn.com. the health section. video about sugar and our skin. baaaaasically it goes like this. judy fortin gives a report on november 2, 2007 about how there's a new food to add to our do-not-eat list and that is.... sugar...and anything with sugar in it. why? becuase it causes wrinkles! this was a study done in the british journal of dermatology. see, sugars get into your blood stream and buddy up with your proteins. combinded, they create corupting molecules called A.G.E...... age..... funny, right? so anyways, these little guys damage more proteins including ones for you skin and.. in the end.. you get wrinkles. so like. this is really important so you... don't look like an old hag. eat healthy!
2. SCIENCE
this one's even more cool, but yet again, i couldn't get the vidoe. from cnn.com. the technology section, but i'd say it's science. MIGHTY MOUSE. as reported november 2, 2007, scientists from case western reserve university did a little fooling around with the genes of a mouse. the mouse turned in to some kind of super freak and... yeah. when put on a tredmill with a regular mouse, mighty mouse's abilities were quickly seen. he out runs the other mouse by at least two and a half hours. he aslo lived longer, ate more, had less body fat, and did it with...well, he was super freaky. he never seemed to have muscle fatigue.. so.. while we're not about to alter human genes, this study could help find a way to recover muscle damage quicker.
its kind of scary. i mean, sooner or later someone's bound to mess around with human genes. we're so about to see the island of doctor moreau in real life.
3. WORLD
hahahaha. ewww. here's a good one. from cnn.com. the world section. a U.S. based charity, DKT International, has created coffee scented condoms in hope to stop the spread of AIDS among java crazy ethiopians. they think it will be very effective given people always complain about the latex scent of plain condoms. they sell stinky friut condoms in indonesia and sweet corn ones in china. honestly, i find this pretty humorous, but whatever works! oh. and this wasssss... also november 2, 2007.
4. SPORTS
this is a super current event. it just happened. literally. the colts lost.
the colts lost.
so i've been running back and forth from the computer to the tv, doing this and watching the game, and the last time i went in there we were winning and then i got side tracked and i never went back. my mom just got home and she came in here to talk to me and i was like so we won? and she was like no. and i was like what?! so anyways, this is the colt's first lose. it sucks, but it's not the end of the world. we'll play the patriots again, only next time, we'll win. this is improtant because... we need to win the super bowl again. one because it would be really cool and two because.. it's good for indiana's economy. the date, november 4, 2007.
5. ELECTION
i'm going to start putting the date at the top. i think that would be easier.
november 2, 2007
of the democratic pesidential canidates, barak obama has missd the most votes in the past two months. almost eighty percent. he miss the iran resolution vote which he has highly criticized hillary clinton for supporting. he says that joe biden and christopher dodd have missed more if you count the whole year.
this is important beeeeecause.. well first of all.. i left this stuff up on my computer when i went to talk to a friend, i came back and the internet had messed up and shut down. i was like are you serious? so i tried to get back on and i couldn't figure out how.. but then i did... and... i figured i'd have to rewrite everything but turns out it saves automatically to drafts. whew!
but like i was saying... beeeeecause... this is the presidential election we're talking about. the potential leader of our country. we need to know about these people and what they are doing and how their campaign is going. we need to stay updated so we can vote wisely.
6. NATIONAL

ENDING DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME
GOOD: more sleeeeeeep!
so last night i was up 'til about three. i'm not exactly sure when the time changed, so maybe it was 2. well anyways. i was up late and then i had to work today. so my mom walks in this morning and it wake me up and she's all like, you need to change your clock i don't want you to be late to work. and i was like daaaang it. i forgot. and i was thinking i was gonna have to get up an hour earlier because i thought i remembered someone saying "spring forward, fall back"....which suddenly makes sense... in the spring the clock goes forward an hour, in the fall it goes back. i suck at life. anyways... somehow i didn't realize that this morning and i was like of shooooot i'm going to be soooo tired. so i sleep for like 40 more minutes and then i get up to get ready for work and i'm like dragging my feet and i go turn on the tv and it's an hour earlier! and so i went back to bed and it was the most wonderful feeling in the world. i thought mr. perrel said we were going to lose sleep? hmm..
BAD: more deaaaaaaaath!
anyways. this whole time change thing.. turns out it could kill you! this information is coming from cnn.com. the US section. apparently, setting the time back an hour means that people walking at dusk are now almost three times as likely to get hit by a car than they were before the time change. there are about thirty seven more deaths around 6 in the evening in novermber than there are in october. kind of weird. i guess people need to start carrying flashlights. i dont know why someone would want to be walking outside at 6 in the morning in november. it's freezing. but i guess. this is important to know so you're more careful walking around at dusk.. i mean. you might get hit by a car.
7. LOCAL...shmocal
i'm not going to lie. i hate this one.
coming from the herald bulletin's homepage... an article about the election for mayer.
november 2, 2007
experts at anderson university say the race between kevin smith and kris ockomon is extremely close. so close, they have no idea who is going to win. they figure it depends on the voter turnout. they say that had the election been in the summer, smith would have definitely would have won, but ockomon has done a lot of catching up and now we'll just have to see what happens. this is important because its about the future mayer of our city. we shoudl know what's going on in our community and who might be running it.
8. BUSINESS... this one's boring
november 4, 2007
the price of gasoline is back up. yessss! i loove spending my entire paycheck on gas. its about three dollars a gallon now. that means it is up about 16 cents from two weeks ago. i mean, do i even need to tell you why this is important? no. you already know. you're spending all your money on it too. seriously, we should all start riding bikes. MR. RILEY. i totally forgot, that's your thing. for real! i road my mom's bike the other day and it was the most fun i've had in like.. a year. it was night, i was freezing, i forgot how to stop and i stubbed my toe, but i'm telling you, it was sooo worth it.
oh yeah. and that was from cnn.com. the business section.
9. STATE
small note: i googled the herald bulletin and as i was clicking the link to its site i saw one of the sub things and it said nightlife. i dont understand.
october 30, 2007
the house passed a bill tuesday requiring ever new manufactured home to be equipped with weather radios to warn people of severe storms. they cost about from about $30 to $80 and pick up broadcasts from the national weather service. about 20 million americans live in manufactured homes. the fatality rate for these homes is ten times more than permanent structures. i think this is a good idea. i used to be petrified of tornadoes. like, i'd see a cloud in the sky and i'd have flashlights, blankets and the cover off the enterance to under the house. the idea is to keep people safe. hopefully it works.
10. IRAQ
november 3, 2007
iraq has decided to close business linked to kurdistan workers party, PKK, because they attacked turkey. they said they will work with turkey to defeat terrorism that is affecting bother countries. turkey has 100,000 troops ready to attack PKK after their attack from iraq.
the united states has plans to cooroperate. this information is coming from cnn.com. world section. it's important because the u.s. is very involved with iraq stuff right now and the "war against terrorism."
**k i'm done. i have to go to bed. my brother just told me a story. i'll ask you about it in class. haha.
